I have AMD 3000+ venice core MSI RS482m4ILD motherboard,128mb x200 onboard grapics card but no dedicated graphics card , 1 gb ram . now with my inbuilt graphics card and 1 gb ram I can play games like FEAR,oblivion . NOw if I buy a graphics card how much performance boost I can feel ? I also want to know can I run Vista with this config? and as my Gpu is based on Ati ( not nvidia) then will I get some disadvantage if I buy a nvidia based graphics card ?my graphics card budget is Rs 6500 .now among the nvidia rating one person told me that by performance 7300<6800<7600 . how can I understand which is better.

I have the exact same config. All games ran fine with the onboard graphics at low resolutions but after adding a Radeon X1600 Pro, I can run them at higher resolutions with more effects enabled.
There won't be any disadvantage if you buy a nVidia based card.
In your budget you should go for the Forsa 7600GS which costs about Rs.6,700.

1)Games will run maybe at 800*600/640*480 low to lowest. Some games like Oblivion and mayb even Fear might not be worth running even at the lowest settings.

2)Vista won't run great either, you need atleast 2GB for decent use. But Vista will run ok-ok and maye not with all whistles turned on.

3)OC to 2.2-2.4, get 2GB RAM and most of all get a higher video card and you will see day and night difference.

4)You can't classify it that blankly, you need to see finer details first.

7600>6800GT/GS>7300GT GDD3>7600GS>6800>7300GT DDR2

Not fully sure btw 7600GS and 6800.
