What is this iPad and Tabs? Android?? Plz explain it here.. :-)

Guys,
I'm using Nokia 5230 which has symbian OS. But now everybody is saying that Android is better than symbian. Can anybody clear me this? I have only little info about android OS. So guys plz clear me few things:

1) Android phones can be upgradeable? i mean most of phone has v2.2, can it be upgraded to later version?
2) Are androaid apps hackable, can it spread virus in phone? or it is virus free?
3) What is + and - point of android over other OS for mobile & tab?
4) Do it support multitasking? What is best hardware requirement for smooth running?
5) At present which android phone is best?

Some questions related to TABLET PC.
7) Many tabs are coming with cheap rates, starting range: Rs.8000, but why these are so cheap? What is difference b/w Android tabs & apple iPad?
8) Do tabs have USB port for using pen drives. VGA , HDMI port???
9) Hows battery life? and what is average life of tab over laptop? because it has no fan for cooling its processor.
10) Before buying TABS which features should keep in mind? Is Android user friendly?
11) Do android tab supports MS office documents? like doc, ppt, xls?
12) Can i use my Reliance/Airtel 2G sim, i dont have 3g, so can i surf net at GPRS/EDGE speed?
13) Can i use TAB for calling on any mobile no. Voice calling like phone.
14) Guys, suggest me any cheap & best tab.

Second i will give a full reply tomorrow, right now i don't have time so here are answers to four questions

ya, sort of
you can install may custom rom to updrade it which results in better performace but it voids warranty
some phones also get offical update from their company which is free and does not void warranty

2) Are androaid apps hackable, can it spread virus in phone? or it is virus free?

almost anything in this world are hackable(correct me if i am wrong)
getting a virus on android is usually quite rare but there are antivirus are present and Google removes any app that has virus/malware from market
so basically if you download apps from android market u can be quite sure that it's safe

but number of cases of virus will increase with time with the increase of number of android users as it will attract hackers

4) Do it support multitasking? What is best hardware requirement for smooth running?

ya it has real multitasking unlike iOS
hardware requirements depend upon how much you multitask like in PC

5) At present which android phone is best?

Depends on your needs but i think GALAXY SII is the best

Some upcoming Tabs will feature USB port.
And almost every (decent) Tab has HDMI port.

Battery life for Android tabs is 1 - 1.5 day(s) on other hand Apple iPad can serve you for some longer (~2 days).
Average life is much comparable to life of a MOBILE PHONE.

All Tabs (Android, Apple, Blackberry etc.) are user friendly.
ATM Android has best lookin UI.

Yes, just like android phones do.

Yes.

Not all Tabs provide Telephony.
