what is the difference btween graphic cards?

i wont to know tht,GeForce 5xxx and Geforce 7xxx of 256MB are available.bt there is a great difference in ther cost.actually what is the diffewrence btween theseee?

Same as the difference between a Mercedes and a Maruti.
The 7xxx series is the latest and fastest out there. The 5xxx series is totally obsolete.
If you want to buy a graphics card the only logical choice is the 6xxx series.

Actually, what used to be a general Hardware Discussion section was changed to Hardware Reviews, and has recently been changed once again to Hardware Troubleshooting.

So, strictly speaking, QnA is the only place left for a general hardware question such as that asked by dittualex here.

GeForce 5xxx is two year old technology, not totally obsolete but there are much better cards out there now.

GeForce 7xxx is the top-of-the-line, terminator type graphics card - TURN ALL THE FX ON!
