Budget 4K TVs may offer same specs but do not mistake them to compete with actual high end brands (Panasonic/Sony/Samsung)

All high end stuff have bad vfm quotient.
Graphics cards, audio equipment, displays, cars etc.
There will always be market for them though

Getting tvs from less known brands is like getting a cheap chinese phone and expecting it to perform like midrange phone from well established brand

If you are currently looking for a budget brand to get tv from opt for Sanyo they are brought by Panasonic so tvs from them are made by Panasonic and service too is given by Panasonic

Funny that you mention that. Cause Redmi Note 5 still is better than many mid ranger phones.
Granted I personally never would buy a cheap chinese phone, but there's no denying that it's camera is better than even newly launched phone like ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 which I brought this sale.
    (Although we are going offtopic).

So there's no denying that cheap chinese TV can't match the quality of Sony, but then Sony isn't exactly VFM. Mind it, that cheap and VFM aren't synonyms.

It's more like cheap phones like Vivo oppo Wil just slap big Megapixel number but the Sony camera will perform same or better with less megapixels. Cheap TVs will do same, add more features to sell, even though the picture quality is just average, which is what many of us care about more

I would rather spend a bit extra and use the product for 3yrs rather than saving few bucks to use a inferior product which will not go beyond the 1yr warranty period. Not saying no cheap product will survive after 1yr, but still, I have seen people getting frustrated with lower end brands and then eventually go for decent reputed brand for which at least they have decent after sales services.

VFM is highly subjective. As Vyom said Cheap and VFM are not synonyms. For a rich person a 1L tv maybe more VFM than say a 3L tv or some Projector.

I also prefer to spend a bit extra to get a product from a better known brand with proven Quality Control where products last longer.

The amount that you spend for the extras may not be "VFM", but they offer superior quality. This amount X spent for value gained Y is not a straight line, the higher you go, the more you have to spend (diminishing returns).
This is especially true for high end audio equipment. They cost a shit ton for very little improvement from a good baseline, say a 598SE or a m50x (7-8K)
Every sector has a sweet spot though, as vyom quoted, RN5P, the above two headphones, Zotac GTX 1080 mini :)p), dunno about TVs.
But high end OLED TVs with HDR is a sight to behold, costs's not justified but its truly astounding.

Redmi note 5 is not exactly cheap @15k by cheap I meant likes of lava, intex etc.I am not considering Sony due to pricing especially in their budget-mid segment but Panasonic and LG offers better Tvs with good pricing

I do not think VFM is subjective, but "Cheap" is. VFM can be measured for most of the products. (for ex. frames/$ for graphics card). That's why VFM is used in almost all professional product comparisons. VFM depends on the product and not on the customer who will be buying it, on which "Cheap" factor actually depends.

Please do not think that I am entirely disagreeing with you. I know where you are coming from but it is certainly "the costlier the better" viewpoint, which can be irrelevant when it comes to VFM. Talking about bigger brands. I have seen iPhones getting touch problems in an year's use, HP laptops getting heat/keyboard problems within 2-3 months and Samsung phones getting slower (or exploding, lol) within months. On the other hand, the so called lower brands are not always of bad quality and most of them works fine without any problems.

The Onida 43 UIC comes with a lot of features for approx. 34k, and the lowest 4k Samsung model (cheapest among high brand TV's) (NU7000) costs approx. 53k which doesn't even have bluetooth. This is the entry-level TV for Samsung and so they haven't gave anything special in it. Talking about PQ, the difference is not much and can only be distinguished when seen side by side. Also, Onida is not a bad brand and the VFM product here.

I disagree . Let me elaborate with an example. Lets take a graphics card 1050Ti (just an example). It's a VFM for me on a certain budget for gaming. On the other hand , for my Dad who doesn't game, the IGPU is enough and for him the 1050ti is not a VFM since the product is overkill for his usage. This does not make the product itself bad but it's not VFM since my dad can't derive value from it. Hence VFM in my opinion is subjective.

For a product to be "VFM" or "Cheap", the base assumption is that its requirement is there. There is no purpose of even talking about it if there is no such requirement, like in case of your dad as he doesn't require a dedicated graphics card at all. Even then, the "VFM" product can still be debated if we talk only about the iGPU category.

First of all VFM != Cheap. I am talking about VFM. In the example I gave ,GPU is the requirement. IGPU was VFM for my Dad and DGPU wasn't. The example was to demonstrate a product was VFM for one person while for another it wasn't. Thus in my opinion VFM is subjective. You are free to have a different opinion. That's totally fine. I'm not getting into a debate on IGPU or DGPU :D

IMO, the VFM products are high quality, very expensive, and also incredibly long lasting.
