What does my RAM Tell me...

I bout a Hynix 512 MB DDR SDRAM....It had PC2700 stuck on it ...The bios hovewer detects 266MHz as the memory speed....
I am confused ...which one is correct...?

U have 512MB(Capacity) Ram with 266MHz speed(like processor).

I think U r mistaken.
A PC 2700 DDR SDRAM must run on 333 mhz nd it is a PC 2100 that runs at 266mhz.

May be your mobo don't support 333MHz, only 266MHz is supported...

check your ram with cpu-z . it will give u all the details and the correct speed of your ram. google for it.

Under BIOS Ram settings, change the speed from AUTO to MANUAL and specify 166Mhz (which is 333Mhz when multiplied by 2). See if your PC boots. If it does not, reset BIOS by removing the battery for 15secs.
