Want to use iPhone for Internet and APPS and not for Calls !

Hi Guys,

I have an iPhone 4S which at the moment I want to use it only for installing APPS and Surfing the Internet. I have an Air-Tel Connection, so I am thinking to get an additional only Data 3G (Only Internet) sim card from Airtel and can I use it in the iPhone just to surf the internet and install APPS, Without putting my calling sim in it ? I wont make any calls from the iPhone, obviously I wont be able to since I will not put my calling sim in it. But is this possible ?

The SIM you got is obviously not a micro SIM is it? Why not install apps from desktop using iTunes?
