hello everybody, I was away from new trend and tech for about 3 yrs and don't know what latest now. pls guide me build my pc. the answers of required questions are given below.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')

Ans: i want to upgrade my pc by a complete rig for gaming, 3D rendering, & some numerical analysis & for downloading (24x7)
games: halo, latest NFS, quake 4, crysis, GTA - San andreas
3D rendering: 3DMAX, CATIA, PRO-E,
Numerical analysis: ANSYS, ABAQUS

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: Rs.20,000, can be extend upto 35,000 for good config.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: not much, as i am not pro with this stuff.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: windows 7 or later

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: i may buy HDD later (I already have one 250GB and one 80 GB HDD.)

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: not now, as i already have a monitor, LG 17" LCD (1280x1024) bought in 2006. planning to use the same for office work. but will use HDTV as monitor for games and movies.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: i already have keyboard, mouse, monitor (for sometime atleast), optical drive, HDD, UPS (500VA), creative 5.1 speakers.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: in dec 2012.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: i know some of this stuff, but would prefer assembler to do it.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Vadodara (Gujarat), i may go upto Mumbai if prices are reasonable there, as i often go there for office work. I would refrain to go online.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I want to make a data sharing and viewing network in my house i.e. mobile, PC, TV tablet. I want all of them to be capable of doing so.
I want to be able to use HDTV as my monitor for playing games and watching movies. (either by HDMI or without wires if possible)

and above all i want a future proof pc for at least 4-5 years. will wait if some new technology is going to come to the market.

NZXT Source 210 elite -2.6k or CM elite 311 plus -2.7k
Corsair CX500v2 - 3.3k
MSI R7770-2PMD1GD5/OC Graphic Card

Config II
Intel i5 3550 - 12.5k
GIGABYTE GA-B75M-D3H - 4.2k or ASUS P8B75-M LE - 5.9k
G.Skill RipjawsX(1600MHz)(F3-12800CL9S) 4GB*2 - 3k
NZXT Source 210 elite -2.6k or CM elite 311 plus -2.7k
Corsair CX430v2 - 2.5k
MSI R7770-2PMD1GD5/OC Graphic Card

In 3DSMax rendering and compute,i5 3550 is faster than fx8150.In games the i5 3550 is better than the fx8150 and more so in lower resolutions.Even at FHD there are some games which perform lower in case of the fx8150 but generally at FHD there is not much of a difference and once the AA is raised the difference is generally not noticeable.

In applications like ANSYS the fx8150 performs quite good, even faster than an i7 2600k because it does benefit from number of cores.
If you use models which are large in size like 8-10GB or more then get more RAM.It would help in reducing the seek time.
Abaqus uses GPU acceleration and does support OpenCL(from version 6.11 onwards),so it would benefit from a GCN based hd7000 series card which are quite good in compute.
Also in 3DMAX,CATIA,PRO-E the Radeons perform better than their counterparts.
Try extending your budget and get an hd7850 2GB for around 13.5-14k for even better performance in applications and games.

Since you are going to buy in december so wait to see for more price drops on maybe graphic cards and other components. It is also possible that Vishera/Piledriver based FX processors might have arrived then which would open up more choices.
