I currently have XP Sp2..Intel Petium-d-3Ghz.....I have a query regarding partion creation for dual boot XP+VIsta

----------------

Q1)I have a 160gb SATA HDD ,With 3 partitons

C:\ -NTFS-Primary partion-Xp installed-60GB capacity
D:\ -NTFS-logical Drive-[19.6 Used data]+23GB Free space(50GB capacity)
E:\ -NTFS-logical drive-7 GB free space(50GB capacity)

I want to install Vista ultimate in D:\......My question is that
After installing Vista in Logical drive D:....Will all the PREVIOUS Data will be lost?
(I mean will it be formated n installed?)

--------------------------------

Also

Q2)I had some problem with Vista upgrade advisor.....it never gave report n says to uninstall it.........Actually i have 1GB Ram(128 MB Shared Video ram in it)...can i install Vista?

I think it formats full drive and gets installed.Better to make one separate partiton for vista..

Vista asks whether you want to format the destination partition while installation. But better backup the data first for safety. 1 GB RAM will be okay for normal use. If you want more performance then upgrade the RAM.
