Something like(this is in XP) Control panel>Add/remove programs. Check the box that says 'Show updates' You will see the service pack as an update.

Yep. Rohan is right. You can uninstall it to remove the timebomb.

Control Panel -> Programs & Features -> View installed updates

Here you should see an entry for Service pack for Windows Vista, uninstall it.

PS: The final version of SP1 has been released, so don't forget to install it after uninstalling the previous Beta/RC version. Final version doesnt contain timebomb.

What would happen if the evaluation day reaches ? Is it like that the OS wont boot or like it will boot but will be giving nagging messages that the evaluation period is over ?
