I am facing a peculiar problem.
I have two winxp independent desktops.
One has a USP port only at the rear. Have connected a cable to the port. A flash pen drive when connected to the cable is detected and works fine.
The other (newer) PC behaves oddly. When the same flash drive is plugged in at the USB ports in the front, PC shows 'hardware problem'. When plugged in the rear port, PC recognises the Flash Drive and it works fine. Since access is not convenient, when I plug a cable (proved and tested as 'working' in the other PC), and plug the flash pen drive into the cable, PC again shows 'hardware problem'.
It is beyond my comprehension! It is as though an electric lamp lights when plugged into a lamp power socket, but refuses to function when plugged into a socket on an extension cord in the same power point.
Please HELP.
Thanks

yep very true. or as most of the cabinets haf today, the front usb ports haf individual connectors for each pin. it maybe possible that there has been some wrong connection. just look into the manual and connect the front usb ports again.
