I had A hp a1518in desktop pc that was running fit till last few days. now all of a sudden my motherboard has stopped working.i wish to buy a motherboard for the p4 processor. due to financial constraints i do not want to buy any new parts therefore kindly suggest me a motherboard that will be compatible with my existing ddr2 ram. The details of my processor & older motherboard are as follows.

Since i do not regularly use pc i justwant to upgrade my motherboard and nothing else

Processor - pentium 4 524 (p) ht 3.06 ghz

Socket 775

Old motherboard - ecs rc410 m

will never motherboards compatible with this hardware ??

New LGA 775 motherboard will easily cost 4k or more that too if someone has a pack left which is rare. Your bets bet it to look at olx.in and quickr for used parts which are easily available for ~1k or even cheaper.

Best of luck finding motherboard for P4. I stretched using Pen 4 for 7 years. Finally dumped it 2 yrs ago. Until then I use to get a mobo for Pen 4 for around 2k from local market.
Can try local market.

Also, this might be obvious to you, even if you don't use PC regularly, Pen 4 is a (human) generation old architecture and don't even get me started for the power it consumers.

Don't know for sure if this is suitable but it is Socket 775 and DDR2 + Lists the P4 in the CPU Support list.

The only quality but iverpriced motherboard you can still get is :

if should support your cpu though not listed ... otherwise try local computer shops or olx/quickr.

Get a refurbished or second hand mother board. It will save you rupees if you don't want to upgrade. Also, go for an Asus model. I've been using one for almost 8 years now. It now powers my HTPC.
