Thin and Light; 13" - 14" screen to Mainstream; 15" - 16"

3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: asus, hp dell,lenovo

4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
desinging softwares like catia, solid works.etc and moderate to high gaming

5) What screen resolution(s) & type (glossy/matte) would you prefer?
1366*768 or higher

6) Anything else you would like to say ?

also do look for Asus K53SM-SX010D. The softwares you listed need a bit of processing power. So the Asus will be better but it cost around 38-39k. Else go for the HP. That too is a worthy buy.
