UPS battery problem

I am having a numeric 600 VA UPS. Its battery went bad few days ago. I am hardly getting even 5 seconds of time if electricity suddenly shut down. So whenever electricity being gone, my computer gets shutted down within 5 seconds of time. It served me well for about 4 years. I asked a shopkeeper about battery replace. They told me it will cost me 900 bucks. A new UPS from V-Guard costs around 2000.
What should I do?
Will I get 4 or higher years of life time from battery change alone?
Or is buying a new ups a wise decision? Which is good for long run? Friends i need your advice.

I just need 5 minutes of backup. Is there any need of new ups for that? Can new battery survive 5 minutes for about 4 years without any issues? Any more suggestions

The average life of battery is around 2 years... I don't know how it survived for 4 years... Replace the battery, it will cost you around 700 bucks and will work for 2 years approx...
