Upgrading PC-Plz Suggest Config

hi
i want to upgrade my pc(already have crt,kbd,mouse,spkr)
the budget is 17-20k
this wat i think
1 gb kingston ram=rs. 2100
320 gb Western digital HDD =rs.4000
cabinet=rs.800-1000
no graphics card needed....used 4 programming and office work and occasional light gaming (max payne etc)
so wat remains 4m the budget is 10-13k
plz suggest a good core2 duo+mobo combination for 10-13k

also do suggest ne changes in ram,HDD

and i stay in Dadar..so can go to Lamington to buy partz on my own..so also suggest good shops selling at reasonable and low prices

boss why dont u go for an AMD X2 4000+ and a Nvidia chipset based mobo...bith wont exceed 9000 rs.....and will perform very well.specially in numbrecrunching scenarios..:D

so i finally settled on amd based pc
wanted 2 ask abt ram
667mhz or 800mhz given the fact that 667mhz costs=1900 and 800mhz=rs.2650
is it worth the extra money

and a bit confused about proccy amd 64 x2 3600+/4000+/4400+ coz they all increment in 0.1 ghz and price increment of 500rs !!!

Athlon 64 X2 3600+ 1.9GHz 1MB L2 cache 2500
Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2.0GHz 1MB L2 cache 3000
Athlon 64 X2 4000+ 2.1GHz 1MB L2 cache 3250
Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2.2GHz 1MB L2 cache 3700
Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.3GHz 1MB L2 cache 4150

and is it necessary to get a 500W VIP Smps? and spending 900 bucks only on the smps!!!

yes certainly its worth the money..specially if the mobo supports dual channel....:D
and as of the proccy.....go the best one u can afford:D

and ya again...the best PSU u can get ur hands on and falls within ur budget ...becoz its the heart of ur sys..i spent 7500 bucks on my PSU:D
