I have a Intel 865 GBF motherboard which has a AGP slot. I am from nepal and here AGP based graphics card is in short supply.Since Newer Motherboards
have PCIe slots, vendors omly stock PCIe graphic cards. I am thinking of buying a motherboard based on Intel 915 chipset since it is cheaper and affordable for me.
And has a PCI e slot too. I don't want to invest in other peripherals and like to add the existing peripherals with the new motherboard. But since the OS of HDD
is configured with the driver of the 865 motherboard, it isn't possible to run the HDD with newer motherboard. And it is too tedious to format the drive coz u have to reinstall the softwares,
all other updates and drivers again. Is there any other way so that I can use my HDD configured with the 865 chipset motherboard to a new 915 based chipset motherboard.I've two 80 Gb hard disk drive in my PC.
Please advise.

No pain....No gain
Since you are changing the mobo (major upgrade) it is always adviced to clean install everything. Else you could repair install winxp but it doesn't always guarantee that everyhting will run smoothly.
Anyhow, first try repair install, if all runs fine then no need for clean install.
