I am currently having B450 A pro with Ryzen 2600

Since 5600x also AM4 socket, if i bought 5600x , is my MoBo is enough?

Also suggest a good MoBo less than 12k (with 2 x m.2 ports and 2 x pci x16 4.0 slots, all available)

.

Or I can wait for next AMD gen ?

Fill in the questionnaire

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.' Vague answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work.)
Ans: Game development and AI

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then please mention.
Ans: 40k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:no

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: win 11

5. How much hard drive / solid-state drive space is needed?
Ans: having

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention the screen size and resolution you prefer. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, then do mention the screen size and resolution of the monitor you have.
Ans: having

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy? i.e. which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: want only MoBo and CPU 5000 series

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:

9. Have you ever built a desktop before? Or, will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Yes assembled here

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: local and online

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: as mentioned above just upgrading cpu and MoBo . Also refer 1st post

Upgrading to R5 5600 (not G or X) would be cheap & provide a good upgrade, will be stuck to PCIe 3.0 though. Do mention the rest of the specs in your questionnaire. Like DDR4 2666MHz RAM will be an injustice to i7 12700 (need at least 3200 CL16 or 3600 CL18).

Else, for 40k, i7 12700 (29k) + MSI B660M A Pro (14k) is a great combination at 43k.

Thanks

My others specs are corsair 2 x 8 GB 2933 Mhz XMP RAM

If I bought and fit 5600 in my current mobo B450 A-Pro , does CPU performance decrease or not

Since , I decided to buy RTX 3060 also when it reached 30k (local vendor told it will be soon due to ETH mining algo change , intel Arc and new Gen release )

Also does RTX 3060 perform low in PCI x16 3.0 ?

So even 50k seems to be higher since it become 80k !!!!! .

suggestions please

(Also where to find R5 5600 (not G or X) . not in websites . )

Can you specify exactly what you will be running on your PC ? Which apps ? I'm not in the IT field professionally but i can make a guess or two if you mention the kind of apps or things you are planning to run on your PC.

5600x is obviously a class apart from 2600 but if we get the details of your requirements then it would be easier for us to advise you on the upgrade. Many a times an SSD does more to increase performance in certain tasks than CPU upgrade. Somethings require a better GPU. Some apps require more cores than clock speed.

Let us know.

R5 5600 performs like 2-3% slower than 5600X. R5 5600 is apparently not widely available here yet. So maybe just get 5600X, some sellers have it under 20k.

I don't think there will be any major performance drop by using PCIe 3.0 vs 4.0 (maybe like a 5% difference). So 5600 is a good choice. With B450M, I'm not sure if VRMs can handle R7 5700X at max performance.

then you should definately upgrade your cpu if you want to handle large amount of data sets in ML.In android development performance much not be that different but it all depends on your project size and your use case. Also going for faster nvme ssd will also help mostly 10-20% increase in performance.

Recently bought samsung 980 1 TB
Also having Kingston A400 480 GB

If 5600 don't have any performance decrease in B450 A Pro , then I will buy 5600 + RTX 3060 first
