is it OK to have PCI devices connected to the PC but rarely used?
i mean i have a LAN and Modem PCI cards connected to my system but i rarely use them,so do these devices consume power when not used?

Offcourse they will consume a little power & system resource.

It would be better if you disable them, if you use them rarely.

BTW I suggest you physically remove the PCI/USB devices you are not using from PC instead of disabling them from Device Manager. :)

yup, coz jus disabling them will still make them consume sum power, althought it will be a minute one but still..

also, it will make ur CPU less clutter (coz of unused devices). :D
