Unable to install any type of linux

Whenever i try to install any type of linux the loader bar stops and gives a big code of error my pc config is

  • p4 2.66 ghz
  • 2gb ram
  • 256 graphic card

is it just one BIG error, or a list of errors that keeps scrolling??

i had a similar type of problem...turns out, my hdd had bad sectors!! but this was after i had already installed ubuntu on my laptop...

Ok...Did you test your RAM?? If possible take the HDD to one of your friend's PC and try to install Linux there and see if the problem persists.

try and boot into the terminal using the live CD..
then use sudo -i..if asked for a password simply press enter...
after this try startx..


it might work

I'm out of my mind.....Looks really wired.

Ok you can try these things -
1. Try to boot the CD on some other machine and see what happens
2. If possible take the HDD to one of your friends machine and install Linux from there. Make sure to disconnect his HDD first otherwise the bootloader will be loaded in his HDD.
