Hey Guys,

For testing purpose, i want to download the 90 days trial of Visual Studio 2008 Team Suite. I tried downloading from Microsoft.com using this address :

i tried using Free Download Manager as well as Orbit. The problem i am facing is that if i stop the download, its not resuming. Sometimes it does but mostly it doesn't. At first unaware of this fact, i downloaded 1.32 gb in a whole night only to find it corrupted next evening. Since then i have tried thrice, but same is happening. Microsoft Servers are supposed to support download resuming, and in other downloads, they are. But all the Visual Studio 2008 version are causing problem. Can anybody tell me what is wrong?

Is anybody else is facing this problem?

I am trying to download from a torrent but its very slow, just giving 3-4 kbps speed. Please help?

I think you need a continuous internet connection. Few days before I also download VB, and it was done in few hours.

@slugger: I tried with Orbit Downloader also, its not working. And also i am downloading other files using fdm, even from the MS site and they are working fine.

@ravi: yaar i have a continuous connection, but its just 128 kbps, so i have to shutdown system everyday, when i go to my office. And BTW, if a download manager can't resume from a disconnected connection whats the use of using it in first place.

@all : Anyways, i am using the provided downloader on MS site itself (as an active X control). It seems to be working fine. I have tried disconnecting 3 times (once even i rebooted my lappy) and it resumed properly.

Thanks very much guys for your input. Really appreciate that. :)

128 kbps, 3.74GB?? Impossible.

@krazy_about technology, did you try with flashget or other equivalent download managers?
Edit: I see you have already solved the problem.
