reloading Windows 98
Reloading windows on C or D drive 'will' not solve the problem .
The problem seems to corrupt the file system ID of E:\ drive . so u have to try fomatting it .
Issue "fdisk" in DOS prompt and proceed with onscreen instructions .
Can u able to see a drive labeled E:\ .

If its seen u can format it using "c:\>format e:" to get it working.

Else ..

u have to use 3rd party partiton managers to resolve it .

use fdisk.....than find out the option "Delete Non-Dos Partion" and Delete it.....then "Create Extended Dos Partion".....and put the logical partion drive size.....than exit by pressing Esc(in the mean time it shows your drive summery)....and now it promts for restarts....

After restarting it .....give the format cmd.....

If you delete the primary partion.....you get lost you current win98 settings/data.

Hope it works.....I forget the actual steps.....but is is almost the same.
Do anything ....plz follow the screen content....all instruction are there.
