The popular distro Ubuntu with the popular Desktop Environment GNOME is now official!! Gnome left behind by the canonical after the arrival of the Unity DE was missed by the users... And there was a Distro Named Ubuntu Gnome Remix Edition which was unofficial!! According to the Web Upd8: Ubuntu / Linux blog "The news comes from the Ubuntu GNOME mailing list, where it is specified that there won't be a 13.04 beta 1 release this week, but there should be a beta release at the end of the month and daily images should be available within a few weeks. This should make it easier to install and test because right now, there's no way of getting Ubuntu GNOME except for installing another Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail flavour and then install the Ubuntu GNOME meta packages."
Being the first official release Ubuntu Gnome 13.04 won't be getting the Gnome 3.8 as an official release can't use PPA's instead will be with the Gnome 3.6...
Jeremy Bicha @ Ubuntu Gnome Also said that " The official name is now "Ubuntu GNOME"; no "Remix", no "Edition". I like the simplicity of this name and the GNOME Foundation Board has made it clear that we are not welcome to use derivative names like GNOMEbuntu as our official name. "
