two sound card problem

Right off the assembly line
Hi all,
Please help me out.
I have two soun d cards with all drivers to run them.
one is onboard ac97 (ALC 650) chip, n other is ac97(ALS4000 sound card).
i want to use both of them simultaneously, for example using winamp for first and using any other program for other say media player. how caaan i do it in windows 98, windows xp, n linux also.

Please help.

Make a install of these two cards with their driver.

And then play one with winamp and another with

media player.


I'm not sure, but I don't think PCs let you run multiple sound devices. Even if you can get 2 cards working together, it's very unlikely that windows will let you send different sounds to different sound cards. It has just now gotten easier to run multiple monitors in windows and that took a very long time to get right, so I'm very doubtful multiple sound cards will work at all. Such features would have to be written into windows drivers, and I've never heard such a thing being offered.

Both will play the sound from the same sound card. The soundcard which is selected in the sound properties will be used by these both players.
