Touchscreen monitors

Before buying, what specifications I should look for in a touchscreen monitor, apart from screen size?

I want to connect external touchscreen monitor to my laptop (lenovo with i7 processor, windows 7). Just visited a couple of shops and i was told that touchscreen monitors are not available for external use. They come bundled only as a part of whole system, including the processor.

Is this true?

I have seen only dell and HP touchscreen moniors but both with inbuilt full system...didnt saw a saparate one

No, I don't think so. You'd better check out more different brands.
