to control spam folder in gmail

hi friend
in my gmail ,i get un necessary email messages from various site.
i keep mailing them that "please delete my email adress"
still i get many email messages ,those i dont like.
please help.

there must be some option to mark them as spam.I have it in my yahoomail.

And never click on those links in mails "Click here to stop getting such mails" or "click here to unregister for getting these mails"
These links always help in increasing SPAM mails
and as Vimal suggested, report those mails as SPAM

Mr VISTA is right. Never try to unsubscribe from the lists. By doing so, you are confirming that it is a valid email address. More and more spam will come because now the value of that email address is increased

really i open them and always click at "unsbscibe".so do i need to unclik them?

i could not get u there must be a option "spam".as u know i get these type of messages in my "spam".
u know i get 50/60 messages per day.

vishal , does it get deleted automatically?

^^Though I am not a gmail user but I can say that they dont get deleted automatically.But they also dont add up to your inbox capacity.

just mark them as spam & automatically those mails will b moved 2 spam folder ..........

& VG is right never click on unsubscribe link ...............

i marked them as spam , but spam is going to be "full of" unread messages ,should i delete them ,or they auto deleted,
