Looking to overclock?
Yes

Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
Windows 7 64 bit

Can extend the budget by about 10 K if it is really worth it. Have attached an image which summarizes my detailed research on the prices of all the components mentioned before. Hope people looking for a similar system will find it useful.
Please let me know if I can get any major performance boost by upgrading one of the components. Also, what is going to be the bottleneck in the system? Also, if anyone can recommend better prices that I can get from anywhere else I will be grateful. Thanks.

CM Storm Stryker - Cooler Master This is baaahhhdasss.

Yup, have considered Storm Stryker and it is among my Top 2 shortlisted ones.

Also, doesn't 670 performs at the same level as 680? Also, since I am going to do all the gaming at 1080p (unless one fine day, I happen to go to Bangkok and decide to bring one of those awesome 1440p monitors ) I guess one 670 would serve all my needs. The more important thing is to decide which brand to go for Asus, Gigabyte, Zotac or MSI for the GPU.

Now that I think of it, a 1440p monitors seems worth it. Gaming @ 2640 x 1440  I doubt many people would be doing that here in India. If there is anyone there who does that, please advise. Is it worth it?

Get Asus 670 DCII.

And yeah, there are many members gaming on a multi monitor solution. Worthiness lies in how much it satisfies you ?

Motherboard: Should I go for Maximum-V Gene or P8Z77-V Pro or Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H-WB Wi-Fi. A bit confused here.

GPU: 7970 or 680 or 670. Please help

WD Cavier Green don't have a good reputation so avoid it. Better get a Black Edition.
If I were you I would go for Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H-WB
As for GPU I am confused myself but still more inclined towards 670 or 7970. Definitely not 680. :)

Gameranand, there are certain performance improvements with the CATALYST 12.8 driver and now HD 7970 normal one performs similar to a GTX 680 in many of the games, however there is no clear winner. But now a days MSI HD 7970 is available around 29K whereas GTX 680 is still 32K and above and that is the reason for considering 7970 as a more VFM solution.

Also HD 7950 now performs same as GTX 670 in most cases with the driver update and with the new BIOS update and available below 25k.

Actually I have also to buy a new rig, so could you please give me a link for MSI 7970 at 29K. And TG said that GHz edition with stock cooler makes a hell lot of noise and is considerably hot so whats your say in this.

Ya, rather than buying the GHz edition, get the custom Cooler versions with moderate factory overclock and then overclock them manually. Check smcinternational.in where two MSI cards are available at below 30K price point.

Yeah I have seen that but which one I should chose the non OC version or the OC version as the model number is same. :-?

Went to Chandni Chowk (Kolkata) today. Will be getting my system within 4 weeks as my Graphic card is currently being imported from Taiwan :) Finalized following:
All prices are exclusive of 4% VAT:

i5 - 3570K: 13500/0
Asus Sabertooth Z77 MB: 18500/-
GSKILL 1600 Mhz 2*8 GB: 5100/-
ASUS MATRIX 7970 Platinum: 32800/-
CM Storm Stryker: 10500/- (Will be in stock in 3 days)
Corsair H100: 6600/-
Corsair TX850-M: 7200/-

SSD's seem to be a bit expensive in Kolkata. Got a quote of ~19K for 256 GB OCZ Vertex 4. Thinking of buying a Samsung 830 Series 256 GB from onlyssd.com.

Thanks for your help guys. Any last minute suggestions are welcome :-D
