1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Pure Gaming purpose. Will be playing games like Witcher 3, Batman Arkham knight ,Fifa 16 and latest Assasins Creed. Consistent FPS is more important than a fluctuating higher Avg FPS.
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 40k . + 5k if absolutely necessary
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:if required.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: not more than 500 Gb (only games will be stored no other applications or movies)

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Preferably 22in 1080p

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: I have HCL 22in Monitor ,1600x 900 Resolution , 160 Gb 7200rpm Hdd , 350 watt smps

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: June 2nd week

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Doing it myself.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:I live in Ahmedabad, Open to online purchase if its the best price option. I will be travelling to Gurgaon in 2 days so if its worth it i can visit Nehru place in delhi.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I want the best overall experience possible for the 40k budget. So for example if i have to use my old monitor and use the saved money to get a better GPU if this gives a better overall gaming exp then i wouldnt mind.

> Gigabyte GTX 760 OC windforce @ Rs 15700
>MSI GTx 760 OC @ Rs 16900
> i3 4150 @ Rs 7700

I researched a bit and found out that i3 4150 outperforms FX 6300. Should i go with i3 4150 and gigabyte GFX?

8 GB Kingston HyperX 1600 : 3476
HP DVD RW : 904
GTX 960 : 15390 / 750Ti : 9490 /R9 270x : 12190
CORSAIR VS 550 : 2928

Total
R9 270x : 41468 (recommended)
750Ti : 38768 (within budget)
960 : 44668 (best performance)

VAT needs to be added in this price.
If you are coming to nehru place, once you get quotation from a shop, search in nearby Shops. They will try to and some will give the same products at even cheaper rate.

Where did you get those ram and HDD prices???

This is the URL to a pricelist document for one of the most biggest shop in Nehru Palace. Apparently their rates are mostly cheaper than any other shops.
Cost to cost.

But keep in kind that these rates are not inclusive of VAT. So you will have to add 12.4% or 14% of VAT on the listed price in the document . ( not sure what is the latest vat rate in Delhi ).

gaming go with intel, multi tasking go with AMD.
i3 has only 2 cores no multi threading..?

if it has HT, even better.

Yes an i3 would easily smoke out the FX6300 in single core performance , however if you consider playing Multiplayer FPS/CPu intensive games then stay away from i3.
It's more advisable to go with i5 because it is a mixture of multiple powerful cores and ample single thread speeds , which will go handy with any sort of games you will play.

And as far as the GPU is concerned get the ASUS Strix GTX960 because it comes Factoryoverclocked and offers 10-15% more performance than the stock reference clock from Nvidia. They are dead silent and cold blooded even at higher adrenaline rush. I am sure that would smoke out the 760 too!
If you can hunt a little bit , you should be able to find a Strix GTX960 2GB for 16,500 or so. Though , I would strongly advise you to wait and spend a little more to grab the 4GB vRAM variant.

Yup, these are without VAT, but once you get a quotation in hand and go to other shops, they get same components at lesser price.
I got a PC for my friend a week back which costed 1.68 at C2C. Same PC costed 1.62 at IT Depot shop. Buying from nehru place needs lots of patience to get best rates.

Guys bought Gigabyte GTX960 Overclock Windforce @ 15970 (All Inc). Seems like a steal to to me. This card slightly outperforms other cards (Asus, MSI) in overclocking as well. The temp doesnt go above 55C. GOT Witcher 3 FREE! as well.

Sadly caviar blue TB is not available at the quoted price in this thread. Went with Caviar green. ill bear those measly 5 sec delays in load times.

Well i believe the new amd cards will take little more time to reach India after its launch and a little further more time for its price to decrease (assuming that amd creates a similar performing card and sells it at much lower price.) if there is little price diff. nvidia wouldnt care as their cards are usually little exp than amd which is fair if you ask me. Nvidia has better drivers which perform consistently in all games.

PLUS THE WITCHER 3 OFFER HAS EXPIRED NOW!! I saved 60$ as well by purchasing before 1st june. Torrenting good games is not my way. I like to support the developers. I m sure nvidia is giving a bit of its revenue from the new GTX cards to CD project red.

my CA final exams got over and i would be wasting away my freetime by not gaming now and waiting for AMD cards :p
