The best open world games

We're in a golden age of open world games, sprawling sandboxes where player choice rules above all else. Sure, there are stories, quests, missions, and goals, but players are free to complete them at their own pace. From fantasy realms to simulated galaxies, from modern cities to post-apocalyptic wastelands, the best open world games give players the freedom to choose their own path—to do what they want, when they want—and provide an interesting and rewarding setting for their self-guided adventures.

Living to Play
There are so many games that comes to my mind when we talk about Open World games which are unfortunately not in the list mainly because no one wnts to make the list too damn long. But fortunately here we have that privilege because we are not writing an article.

1. Saints Row Series
2. Need For Speed (Some of them)
3. Borderlands Series
4. Batman Series
5. Burnout Paradise
6. Brutal Legend (Old but good game)
7. Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain
8. Darksiders series
9. Dead Island Series
10. Homefront Revolution
11. Rage
12. Red faction Series
13. Sleeping Dogs
14. Starpoint Gemini 2

And many more. I have tried to exclude RPGs from this list simply because most of them are RPG and adding them would be preaching to choir. No use, most of us already know that they are RPG like Dragon Age series, Dark Souls series, Shadowrun series and the likes.

No offence to anyone but I didn't like mad max at all. The movie series is good though.
Any other open world games which are not fps?

While not a true open world game, Deus Ex is very very good.
The first one and HR/Mankind Divided. We do not talk about the game in between :p

I played THAT game recently and was shocked to see that the Liberty Island map that was just one map in the original Deus Ex was divided into 2 maps with even less area in each. True console game.
