A laptop and tablet are pretty much the same in terms that they both are a computer and they both run programs and do all the usual stuff .
The visual difference is that a tablet PC's screen can be flipped around and you can hold the PC like you would a book, the tablet PC's also have a stylus which allows you to use a special pen to take place of things like a mouse and keyboard.
