System shut downs abrubptly

Right off the assembly line
Hi, I am using an assembled system (Intel Dual Core, 2 GB RAM, 80 GB HDD, Simtronics motherboard, Sony DVD). From last one month I am facing a problem where my system shuts down abruptly. I have scanned my system for any viruses but the problem is not cured as of now. There is a "Tick" sound that comes from motherboard and it goes off immediately. System tries to boot again and in the process auto-restart several times. I have to try 10-15 times before it actually allows me to log in; even then it’s not sure that it will not restart again.

• This is not an OS problem as sometimes it restarts even before boot area
• It could be related to SMPS,
• Or it could be related to motherboard as the ‘tick’ sound comes from there
• RAM seems ok to me
Please help if it can be cured at home or else I have to approach the vendor.

Thanks…

Legend Never Ends
refit RAM. And yes your PSU seems kaput. RMA it or test with another PC. BTW why didnt you write which PSU you have?
• Or it could be related to motherboard as the ‘tick’ sound comes from there
Even my Intel PC makes this sound in bootup. its fine.
