Uhu, Not Gonna Happen!
I have seen (in bangalore) that it is being sold with lcd panel and not amoled.

@noob: amoled screens may brighter and more vibrant but you will find lcd panels soothing to the eyes.

Well said.
'coz i have seen both panels
S-lCD - Wave 2
SuperAMOLED - Galaxy S

i Found that Wave 2 had better display then Galaxy S {personal thought}

But as i browse on Forums & other site, ppl alwayz say that SuperAMOLED is better, but i cant say that.

So i need to ask u ppl.

sorry sir. when it comes to sharpness of text, LCD panel is much better than OLED panel.

everything looks much much better on AMOLED. been using it for 1 year now.
shifted from WinMo 6.5 having LCD ones.
also sir, the sharpness you are mentioning here is not even noticeable here.esp with mobile screens.

This really tickles me. Let me explain this the dummies way. Take your amoled device and try to read an ebook or a webpage for a while. Then try current gen mobile phones with LCD display like:

1. N900
2. Wave II
3. Xperia X10
4. HD2/HD7
5. iphone 4
6. Optimus Black etc

and try to read same document or webpage. many (who are able to notice) notice that the text is much much smoother on LCD panels.

and btw, if you are talking about SuperAMOLED on SGS, it is even worse, thanks to it's inferior PenTile matrix. Oversaturated colors (some misunderstand this as being vibrant colors), just a bit washed out fonts. SA+ on SGSII gets much better but still, when it comes to reading, it's not match yet for LCD. It will take time for OLED to get to that level but right now, it is not.

The above observation is from this:

I am testing X7 with amoled display, I have N900 and there is X10 in my house. I have already tried friend's SGS, HD7, iPhone 4, N8 etc.

Does having an SuperAMOLEd Panel give an increase in battery Life over S-lCd ???

yes. it does. sometimes, a lot and sometimes, not much.

Are you sure that the one with amoled panel has indian warranty? Like I said earlier, if you watch lot of movies, get amoled one and get it only if it ha manufacturer warranty.

thanks for taking out time to post.
well i read the thread from post 1 and could figure out that people find SLCD better for reading. but is this difference a drastic difference. i couldnt find the latter part of my query , does s amoled consume more battery when displaying predominantly white backgrounds as in reading text.
