Suggestions on a new car

Hi,

My dad wants to buy a new car, and I need all your inputs on the same. The budget is around 5.5 lacks. Will prefer a diesel engine.

Currently I'm looking at the ford Ikon, which is around 520,000/- ex-showroom. I've not much clue of the automotive segment, any inputs are welcome.. Will also look into SUV segment, scorpio is also on the mind

y don't u try the tata nano? It only costs Rs. 1,00,000/-. Bet u can buy 5 cars wid it, one for each family member, and save more than 50 grands on it.

Maruthi shift is better than ikon in all the ways , also choose SX4

scorpio is MUV , its not much suitable for a family
