Suggestions for an UPS

I'm assembling a PC and I'd like to have a good UPS to go with it (though earlier I was planning to use an UPS I already had). My calculations say the maximum power consumption would be ~500W (at max load). I can either get a 700VA APC UPS (Buy Online APC Back UPS 700VA (BE700Y-IN) in india) or 1 KVA Numeric Digital UPS (Buy Online Numeric Digital 1000VA UPS in india). Which one will you suggest?

I know most people will suggest going with APC but with a Power factor of 0.6 will that 700 VA unit provide enough wattage?

Also btw why's there's such a huge price gap between 600 and 700 KVA UPS? (2k vs 4k)

I just read up more and my Seasonic PSU has Active PFC. I have to test before buying an UPS with approximated sine wave output (can't afford a pure sine wave) which wont be possible online. And I enquired locally and APC's offerings here don't go above 600 VA. Plus APC's After sales service here is VERY sketchy. Guess I'll go with iBall

dont go with iball, intex, MICROtech, asiapowercom, and some other upses or you will put your psu at risk.
600va=360W so a 700va=420W(approx)(MAX)
so you better get a 1000va ups for your system. numeric ups are good too. i think recently one of our forum members got one...a numeric DIGITAL 1000VA one here: *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/pc-components-configurations/174323-need-ups-my-system.html post #17

so APC and vguard are good in terms of on-site service

many have active PFC psu's here but they all use stepped sinewave ups'es so they dont harm in short durations

Numeric ain't available here. V Guard 1KVA is available for 4400. HCL 1 KVA for 3300 (I'm still wondering if the seller said it right!). Which one would you suggest? He told me nobody stocks APC because APC engineers very rarely come down to here and so the customer service is MUCH delayed.

well vguard has on-site service. but i doubt the quality of components...
the upses i have used(numeric600va- 2 or 3, microtek 1000va-1 , microtek 800va-3, vguard 600va, and powercom 600va) heat up a lot, now i'm using apc 600va and it is so cool...gets hot only when discharged and charging when power returns
the numeric upses are still working perfectly after ~6 years of use... ofcouse after chaning battery
but the microtek(3-4years back) will die in a year and the powercom(2 years) board got changed 2 times in 6 months.
and vguard i got last year and it is working good... but gets hot like stove like others
and I cant even find a link for hcl 1000va ups anywhere. i think it is a very RARE MODEL...

I'm on such a tight budget that I'm not buying a proper monitor but instead buying a 2nd hand CRT monitor for 900 Rs so I can get other components right. So I think APC will be a hard fit. I wish I were in delhi xD. That APC 1.1 KVA is priced 4800 Rs in Nehru Market

600 VA UPS may be a bit low powered for 7950 IMO.
