Suggestion for buying a mid-end laptop

Specs: i7 (prefer) / i5 ; 6GB RAM; 600GB HDD; USB3; 13" - 14" screen
Sleek machine for Web development / Virtualization / Occasional Video Ed & Gaming
Primarily mobile usage
Win 7/Linux dual boot
Battery life : 4hrs
India, Bangalore

Expected life : 4~5 years.

Brands:
Like : Sony, HP, Acer
Dislike : Dell

I have zeroed on HP : DV6- 6174TX & G6-2004tx. Better suggestions?

Concerns:
- Heating
- Obsolescence.
- Service

Do you think it would be wise to wait for couple of months to get better specs / pricing?

If i5 is alright the dv6-7012tx is a really good deal otherwise only Asus gives i7 in that price range but without OS. But with Ivy Bridge laptops coming in it would be better to wait for sometime.

have a look at Sony CB45, it has got a full HD display otherwise you can have a look at Asus K53SM-SX016D
