Got a sudden requirement for a laptop... to be used by a teacher, the main requirements are

1. a good quality webcam
2. Touchscreen
3. Expandable SSD

Currently using an HP Envy 13, it falls short on Point 1 and 3.

Processing power isnt a priority but looking for an i5 minimum so that it lasts long.

Battery life may be a plus but would not prefer something too bulky.

Brand: I would prefer a brand HP or Lenovo with good support. To be used in Australia.

Budget: 60k, may go upto 100k if needed.

Reason for making thread: Looking to buy immediately as sale starts tomorrow 7 Oct 2023. May not have enough time for myself to research.

Why not buy in Australia? Will have more options, might be bit cheaper as well.

AMD has better battery life in general, also power efficiency is better for AMD at lower power (like better performance per watt at lower power).

I doubt you will get good webcam on laptops. Even 1080p ones are not as good as a selfie cam of a 10k phone. I'm using my old phone with Iriun webcam & Nvidia Broadcast on my desktop.

Should be fine.

Bit better performance (like 10-15% faster). Not true Ryzen 7000 Zen4 CPU but is similar to 5800U. 5700U is rebranded 4800U actually.
