One of the connector inside the headphone pin could be for microphone. Try connecting the speaker wire to two connectors at a time. If it doesn't work then use other two. Keep doing this till it works. The one that'll remain would be the mic connector. I'm not to sure about all this though.

There is no standard as much i know

u just try connecting them on hit and trial method

or check out connections in some old dead headphone cables

If you mean a stereo cable with pins on both ends, it is very simple.
Buy one for about Rs.20-25!
But if you mean one with stereo plugs on both ends, it may be difficult since few days back I searched for it and it was not available.
In stereo cables, the outer web like covering inside the plastic is the earth and the two wires inside it are for left and right channels.

Can you not get one of these at an electronics store? Recently, I purchased one similar to what you ask for... One end connects to the headphone plug in my MP3 player and the other to the aux in for the car stereo... Through this, I am able to play the songs in my mp3 player over the car speakers....

The plugs are for stereo based connection. You need a 3 or more wire cable to connect these plugs. Multiple strand wires are available in any electronic shops. Get one and solder the 3 wires into the stereo plug. Keep in mind the colour of the wire you have soldered to the pin. Maintain the same soldering sequence for the other end. That's it. Now you have a stereo cable connector.
