Starting up win 98se.

Guys at time of startup i get a black page luks like ms dos. informing me that win can't find a file or device named "vnetsup.vxd", perhaps it has been deleted somehow but this file referes 2 system.ini. this file may be used 2 run some windows applications. what shud i do.
I'm getting the same mssg for two more files named "vredir.vxd" n "dfs.vxd". Plz help me.

Hey,

Start > Run

Type Sysedit

Select SYSTEM.INI

Search for these file entries and remove them! Thats it.

You are telling hime to remove imp. device drivers.

They are very imp. drivers. Try reinstalling the device and its drivers which u might have changed recently.

well this happens when you uninstall some software ..most prob any Norton Product ....Keep ur 98 cd ready ...go to start-> run-> sfc ..and chk for files..it will prompt for some missing files..pop the cd and replace them.....also if u can boot in 98 means these files are not system critical...try what ferrarif50 told u to do......also check This for more info...
