Re: 32 or 64

Use proper thread title.

Right click on My Computer > Properties. It should be listed there. Not sure. If not then head over to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Info. It must be mentioned there.

Right Click on My Computer - Select and click on Properties

Under General Tab - System section if your OS is named as :

Windows XP Professional x64 Edition - then it's 64 bit version

but if it reads as :

Windows XP Professional - then you have Xp 32 bit version - simple enough , eh ? ;-)

How to know that my XP is 32 or 64 bit??

open command prompt & type "systeminfo"
then u will get a bunch of information in there just see the "System Type"
it will be written "x86-based PC"

so x86 ---> 32bit system
x64 ---> 64bit system

Which is better 64 or 32

64bit is better than 32bit becoz of more memory address & huge memory support..... :grin:

but some users complaint of 32bit applications(few & old) not working in 64bit :))
