smartphone or tablet for arnd 25-27k !!!!

im looking 2 buy smartphone. my budget is around 25-27k. purpose of my phone is purely entertainment.( games , music , videos at high resolution , and chatting ) so which ph should i get ? ( i found some phs that 1 lyked ) 1) nexus 4 .....2) xperia sp .....3 ) s3


OR ....im so much interested in new ipad4 or (nexus 10) its arnd 27-30k in india ( mumbai ). so its good choice 2 go for ipad4 or nexus 10 . or i should stick to smartph ?

1. Budget?
And => 25-27k


2. Display type and size?
Ans=> high resolution. size more than 4 inch (atleast )

3. Form Factor? bar, slider, flip?
And=> Bar

4. Preferred choice of brand?
Ans=> any well known . no local brand please . (google , apple , samsung , sony etc )

5. Preferred input method (QWERTY, touchscreen, numpad, touch-n-type).
And=> touchscreen + QWERTY

6. What camera option you want? Please specify need for flash, autofocus, front facing camera.
And=> Should take good pictures. good quality pictures . and also good features.

7. Preferred operating system? (Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows Phone etc).
And=> android or ios

8. Preferred connectivity options (3G, Wifi etc)Please specify clearly.
And=> wifi .Will also using 2G . or (3g in future)

9. Preferred applications (Flash, Swype, GPS, etc)?
And=> fb , mails , wattsapp , youtube , all basics etc

10. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, mails, internet, gaming etc)?
And=>games , music , videos at high resolution , camera and chatting

11. Any specific mobile phones in consideration?
Ans=> I shortlisted 1) nexus 4 .....2) xperia sp .....3 ) s3 ...4) s4 mini in smartphones
for tablets 1) ipad4 2) nexus 10 ....u can suggests me other also

12. Any other info that you want to share
Ans=> i have huge confusion abt weather 2 go for smartphone or for tablet. will all apps+ games of ios can i run in ipad4 in india ?
there will be a arnd 3-4k price difference btw ipad4 vs nexus 10 (ipad4 is little cheaper)
also i found nexus 4 is better than xperia sp and s3. i have no idea abt s4 mini
i am planning 2 buy this after 2 months ( in august )

If you can, buy Xperia ZR. Waterproof and better than the rest. If you cant, go for sp or nexus

but not better in terms of updates if u compared to N4.... :p

Also everything is almost same except the cam & IP58 certification & Micro SD. Also N4 having 1.3 MP front cam(If that matters)

In smartphones, consider only Nexus 4 & Sony Xperia ZR(same specs as Nexus 4 + SD card slot+ water proof). I think only for multimedia purposes, Sony Xperia ZR is a better option (updates won't be as fast as Nexus will get or even S3, but it is a smooth phone & will definitely get 4.2 update & next android release too, after that XDA.. ). Its available for 28k here, so u may find it at 27k locally.

As far as tablets are concerned, I think u shouldn't buy one. Its better to have a smartphone. If u have a laptop, then its even better, and another reason for not buying a tablet.

1. Phones are portable, u can keep them in pocket and carry them everywhere

2. You can use it as a phone, make calls, messages, etc

early i have mentioned that main purpose of my device is gaming , music , hd videos, n chatting...still u recommend smartphone over tablet ?

Go for ZR; n4 battery is not that great and no card slot. Trust me you will need card slot for more high end games and HD movies n all.

spending extra 6k on zr ......really worth it ?

wats ur opinion on lg optimus g ?........or any upcoming smartphone ?

U can consider Note II if u r ok with its size.......

Optimus G is good, moreover G & Xperia ZR have same specs. G has 32GB int. memory with no SD slot whereas ZR has 8GB int memory with SD slot & is water proof.
In India ZR is also cheaper than G, so get ZR

wat abt note 2 ? its available for 26k here. should i go 4 that or stick 2 zr. i found screen size and battery is much better in note 2 over zr. so wat u recom ? zr or note 2 ?? were zr is 2k more . wat extra it'll give over note2. ??

I was fascinated by tablet, from the day it was first time proposed. But now when I imagine myself carrying one in a holder(call it man purse :p), the idea seems absurd.
1- Portabilty gets kicked out of the house.
2- As some people mentioned, laptop is a better replacement, unless you want to go for it just for the thrill :rolleyes:
3- You are walking, and a sudden gust of fate - your dear tablet is on the ground. A gruesome scene. I think a smartphone would have better survival chances in such cases.

Note 2 @ 27k is exchange offer given by Samsung. Actual price is still 36k

Performance of ZR is better compared to Note 2 because of better processor & 2GB RAM(vs 1GB RAM). I personally don't like phablets because its big. Remember ZR has water resistance, so u can use it with wet fingers, use it in rain, etc.......
