I take exception to the word 'rarely'. I think you should re-consider your approach towards salespersons.

wow dude whats your problem really
tell me, if you walk into e-zone ,croma etc do the sales people know features etc properly???
i myself shop at a local known store and those guys know wayy better than the e-zone ,croma etc people
i think you should reconsider your approach to stop generalising randomly

Offtopic but i was wondering how does these salesmen always have the high end mobiles as their personal phone. One guy at a tiny shop had S4 a year ago and another guy had lumia 1520. I mean given their meager income , how can they afford such phones.

Its you who generalized it when I talked about that sales person who didn't know about the gesture thing. May be he wasn't a regular guy of that department or he wasn't responsible for sales of that store.

i too have seen the same multiple times and most of them are from middle / lower middle income group. i feel the companies hand out some handsets as sample.

they are given these phones to promote them etc by samsung, nokia etc or even the outlet itself

plus some people are often very phone savvy
the staff in my parents shops all have "fancy" phones which they buy from their own pockets

Are there any stores providing EMI facility on debit cards? If yes, I'm open to buying iPhone 6/ 6 Plus 64GB/128GB.
Flipkart.com,snapdeal,amazon,themobilestore require credit cards

I would like to know this too, at least as long as my CC is being monitored. Heard ICICI announced debit card facilities, however that only applies for Samsung phones. Is this an RBI rule or something?

No, debit cards cannot be used for emi. Certain offline shops and online shop (onemi.com, no idea on reliabilty)use bajaj finserv which is great as a emi card.

Spoiler alert: my sis (iphone5s) was using her colleagues iPhone 6 and she said it doesn't feel like the premium one except for aluminum body. That's my sis opinion.

Icici bank does provide emi facility on debit card but you have to have a fixed deposit account with them. I think they need to be certain that in case you default there is a way to recover money.
