Should I go for a new UPS?

I bought Numeric 600va UPS for Rs. 1870 in Bangalore. Last time i tested, it gave a backup of 16 min for a p3 system with 17 inch monitor.

My previous UPS Radiant 500va mx plus has lasted me for 7 years including battery. From the last 2 months it was giving me a backup of 5 seconds, that is why i changed it.

Overall, i would recommend Numeric 600va to anybody and it has got 2 years warranty too.

but i dont think numeric has an option of controlling the pc in the event of a power failure

I have finally brought APC UPS. I checked a lot but the option that you are talking about is not available.
