Sharing Computers/devices over a local network

My lil brother did this before so I know it is possible... He's gone for his engineering and I'm kinda stuck. (Argh! I hate being so technically challenged.)

I have 1 desktop and 1 laptop. The modem is connected to a Wireless router. The router has a LAN cable connected to the desktop. And is wirelessly connected to the laptop. (Took a while to get it set up). I have a printer connceted to the desktop.

How do i share the drives between the computers? and how do I get the laptop connected to the printer?

Both the devices run Windows 7 on them.

Please feel free to ask as many questions as you need, I'll answer them gladly.

Go to network & sharing center>change adv. sharing settings>turn on all the options there also turn off the password protected sharing ur printer will be shared now
For drives Right click the drive>share with>in advanced sharing create a new share
try these & get back

I'm in the office right now. The printer got configured - I've got no idea how I did it... kept playing around... will go back and see if the drives can be connected by your method and then get back to you.
