resolution 1600*900

i am buying SAPPHIRE R9 290 4GB GDDR5

i do animaton using 3ds max and Maya
i play games AC,thief,NFS,Battlefield..

i heard R9 290 reaches 95 C
i know its overkill

if you upgrade to a full hd monitor or multi-monitor setup soon, get sapphire tri x version. it is much cooler. else settle down with r9 280x. for 900p, 290 is absolute overkill.

r9 290 is far better than r9 280
r9 280 got 2000 cuda cores whereas 290 got 2500 cores and u guys know other differences too..

Any modern GPU is capable of handling 80+ degree temp! When I play Crysis 3 at Ultra it reaches 90/92 sometimes! It's a GTX580 though.
@OP : Dude, as someone said before at that resolution even a GTX 760 or a GTX 680 would be an overkill.

r9 280 got 2000 cuda cores whereas 290 got 2500 cores and u guys know other differences too..

it is not cuda cores, it is the stream processors . yes the difference is promising but not for your resolution.
as i said earlier, if you dont have any plan on upgrading your current monitor to full hd or 1440p or even multi monitor set up, then there is no need to go for 290. you will never be able to utilize the strength of it. it is not just related to money, but depends on other parameters too like screen resolution etc.
if you have enough money, you can even go for quad gtx titans. but what is the use of it for 1080 p gaming?? think yourself.

i dont understand why would you even suggest 280x.
if op has budget for 290 let him buy it. sure its overkill for a 900p.. but it is more future proof also he might get a FHD display down the line and also he has the money to buy 290.

i can afford little extra for the 3x
and it is within budget Rs. 36349

am an animator and also stuck in games sometimes.. tats y i choose this one...
and my target is min. 3 years to use this card..
i ve less knowledge on components.. thanks for the guidance n support, all..
