S4. Should I buy new battery?

When I started with jb i was getting around 4 hrs of playback on mx player with still some juice left.
1% lasted around 3 mins which means 1 hr playback equalled 20% loss in battery.
But now i can't watch a single movie in one charge although i get decent backup in standby and there is 1%/min during surfing.
My battery condition seems good physically but as the original one costs 2.4k i want your suggestions.
Current os is lollipop.

Root your phone, hibernate user apps using greenify and remove non required apps from startup. Install Batterbatterystats and then report the usage details. Also, switch off wifi, bluetooth, auto sync, etc when not required

1.5 yrs and phone is rooted and useless Sammy apps removed.
But since video playback is reduced drastically.

Well I guess the battery has run its course, time to get a new battery. I honestly can't say, cause I never even had a phone for that long. Isn't there any app on Play which can check the endurance?

Ot . Did you trip Knox while rooting ? My i9500 (1yr old ) lasts nearly a day and no more , under light to moderate usage . All stock no root . My s3 ( i9300) 2.5yrs old lasts easily a day and a bit more , all stock no root and light to moderate use . Moto g (2013) 1yr old lasts up to 1.75 days , both sims on and same usage pattern as above .

I have removed knox. And there is not any app afaik which shows battery endurance.

Did you charge your phone with 3G/2g on? one of my friend Galaxy S4 battery died because of same reason. The battery really swelled up & suddenly got discharged. Yes, you will need a new battery.

its not necessarily a hardware issue,ive had batteries last me 6 months or even 7-8 years on my phones
first backup and try flashing back stock rom and see if it gets back normal battery life,if not reflash the backup (nandroid) and buy a new battery

I am getting pretty good backup in normal usage but problem comes when playing hd movies or games. It drains quickly.
Gonna try this hibernate though.

Nah, Xposed won't work on TW ROMs, bootloop. But you can try those Cyanogen Mod stuffs and install Xposed, if that's your thing that is.

I used to use face unlock feature before but it is missing.
Have Googled for it and now the new bullsheet called trusted face is not showing anywhere in security.

just flash the factory rom again and compare battery performance imho
dont do hasty stuff

take a nandroid backup as well
