Resized windows 8 partition and now everythings messed up

So I resized my windows 8 partition from a usb gparted (ubuntu) . Restarted and everything has gone crazy inside windows 8.

Problems:

1. start screen icons are gone (including the user login one)
2. task bar icons are gone as well
3. can't change certain things , like unlock the taskbar ( right click on taskbar > click on lock the taskbar has no effect) . (permissions problem..?) adding to taskbar , adding to start screen etc.
4. hdd and usb disk space are shown as bonkers - 571GB free of 200 GB (on a 8 gb pen drive)

Long time our cute monkey had some problems.

What exactly you do? Messed with existing partitions too? Only resizing partitions shouldn't have any problem. You can try to resize the partition back to what it was. Or simply backup everything and setup windows again.

Turns out the user profile got screwed up. I deleted and created it again and now all is well
