Req: Need to Unlock [PIN2] a Motorola C118

I got a Motorola C118 with hp 1020. It was already bound with an Airtel number (life time) and I can't use any other SIM in that unit. However, the offer's (life time card) validity was only one year. Now I have used the phone for more than 17 months and I want to change to a different plan/number/provider. But the handset is not accepting any other SIM and asks for PIN2. How can I unlock this to use it with any other SIM?

I also have the same phone that was given free with HP Laserjet 1020. When I contacted Motorola Service Center, they told me that the phone is locked for a span of two years with Airtel and cannot be opened before. After the time span, they will unlock it for sure.
I think that it needs some secret code for unlocking purposes.

Thanks for the info debs.. I thought it was one year.
