Reliable Mobile for Dad

Tried the Asha 500 and 501 models today. I think the Touchscreen is resistive or something, the device is terribly slow and camera is poor. Didn't get to test the audio and battery. Decided not to opt for it. Luima 530 is out of the budget as of now.

How about these two models? How are they?

avoid that samsung its even worse than the asha resistive touch screen
the other nokia is ok,i suggest getting the Moto E or Lumia 530 by extending if you want touch etc
otherwise the nokia is ok

try this mobile at lenovo showroom: Lenovo A369i. mayn't have build quality of Motorola or Nokia but at 4k, this is the best bet you can find. and should be available locally too.

Thanks for the suggestion Sam. The Lenovo was in my mind too. Will check it if I can find it locally.

Last month on diwali, I'd gifted my Dad a Samsung S DUOS 3. It seems to be good and he is happy using it so far. My dad doesn't care about the fact that its running on kitkat but he liked a few apps like astrology, tamil calendar, etc. which I had installed for him from Google Play.

When I checked it for a while, I found a few issues though,
1. It doesn't has a proximity sensor. So whenever making a call and to view the screen, one has to double-tap the screen which is very annoying.
2. Battery life is not so great. you will get only about 2-3 days max (even without the internet or wifi).
3. You've to copy all contacts from SIM(s) to phone storage in order to edit it (what the heck!!). And using the Contacts(or Messages) was bit difficult at first for my Dad but he may have get used to it now (I think).

Check for these points too while deciding. Cheers.

I won't recommend Asha series from Nokia bcoz Microsoft will end it anytime soon(check Wikipedia). Current offerings are only the last stock ones. Go for Windows if u need a Nokia. B/w I recommend for Android for its vast Apps available.

no get a lumia 530 or Moto E instead for 6000,they are much better
i suggest lumia over android because windows phone has better battery life and simple UI

Hi, sorry I forgot to mention one thing - The mobile must support normal sim(Since current number he's using has many important contacts he can't lose.) So I guess since Lumia, Asha and other smartphones will only support micro sim, they are out of the question.

So I'm planning to get this -

Error 500 Server Error

Is it good?
