I use windows Xp prof. with service pack 2. I have only one account with administrative rights but I have the passwords for the original 'administrator' account of XP. The problem is that if I try to edit registry with my account it says "Registry editing is disabled by your administrator" and folder options menu is not visible anywhere not even in control panel->tools, but these are accessible in original 'administrator' account of XP.How do I restore this in my account?

Your system is infected with Rontokbro virus. Find the removal instructions here.

To restore registry editing, use this tool

Go to Control panel\Administrative Rights\Computer Management in your Admin Account and select local users and groups. There Change ur user perms.

first run ur updated antivirus and/or the above toll in SAFE MODE. (u do have an av dont u ;-) ). clear ur pc junk with 'ccleaner'. then pls post ur hjt logfile here or at www.hijackthis.de for analysis.

once u have got rid of ur infection, u'l have to re-enable 'registry editing' and 'folder options' :)

this will help u to re-enable registry edtg *www.faqfarm.com/Q/How_do_you_enabl...if_it_has_been_disabled_by_your_administrator

after this is done, to enable back the folder options :
click *www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and go to tweak number 129. download it, double click on it and add to registry. reboot.
