Redmi 1S TWRP Bootloop

Guys in big trouble . To start off let me explain the whole . Yesterday i flashed my Redmi 1S to the latest beta global ROM ie the one based on MIUI 7 and Kitkat . It went all fine . Now the trouble started when i went to root . I had forgotten that flashing new ROM wipes out any custom recovery . So i by mistake chose CWM/TWRP instead of Normal in SuperSU . Now the phone didnt boot but stuck at Mi logo and wasnt booting into recovery either . It was going into fastboot though. So i tried mi flash . But no matter how many times i try to flash it always showed unspecified error . And yes i did download a fastboot ROM seprately. Now i finally decided to flash TWRP via fastboot . It worked and phone booted into TWRP . Now i flashed that ROM that i had installed previously ie the kitkat one as it was in the SD card . Wiped dalvik cache , formatted and everything but the phone only boots into TWRP . Doesnt boot normally .Hard reboot . soft reboot etc but it shows Mi logo gand goes staright to TWRP without booting. Help please ? I am stuck wihtout a working phone as this is my primary one

I tried with other recoveries like philz touch etc but was successful with cwm recovery.try it.Never had experience with bricking androids

There is one method in miui forum in which you got to Fastboot and install Philz Touch with some utility. It worked for me before when I ran into some problems.

Dude TYSM . Philz touch rocks . Installed the same MIUI 7 ROM but this time it actually booted . Time to restore my backups and stuff . Guess TWRP has some issues . Thanks again . Not gonna try rooting anytiem soon :V

Glad it worked. There may be no problem with rooting. But I don't know about miui7.

Don't be afraid to root. Just don't select TWRP/CWM in SuperSU. Always choose normal. I did the same thing on my GNex, and had a similar problem. But it is easier to recover a Nexus.

Anyways, its good that you have recovered your phone.

My wife has a Redmi 1S too. I used to root it to enable onscreen navigation keys. Don't like capacitive buttons. Recently, I moved it to Cyanogenmod 12.1, so it is now a better phone.

Yeah selecting normal worked . I feel a bit sad now considering had i done that before my apps and all those pics i had downloaded would be there lol . Anyways a lesson to be learned here i guess . Yeah gonna try other ROMs soon . And i am not afraid to root either . My phone was running rooted before i flashed the new ROM (of course i unrooted it before flashing ) . Juts that this incident left me a bit scared
