Will it be a good idea to buy imported phones?

I'm getting a good deal (25k) on factory unlocked LG G2 32GB (Sprint). Should I go for it??

You can if the buying source is reliable... I dont think there would be any network issues for a Sprint model here in India but please make sure that.

Yeah, the source seems reliable but I never bought any imported phone and I don't know about the problems one might face with imported versions.
The model is LG G2 32GB L980 (Sprint). If it's Sprint version then it means that the phone isn't factory unlocked? And ethically it should only be used with Sprint, right? Is there any legal issues with unlocking a factory locked phone and using it on any other carrier when it is meant to be used only on Sprint?

1st of all you wont have any warranty here for imported phones. If you are getting the fone locked then probably it wont be possible here to unlock that...

In some case unlock codes need to be bought which you can do from here. My brother's friend got a locked iPhone a year ago and he couldn't get it unlocked.

If some one from US is getting you one then ask him/her to get it unlocked which will definitely cost some money

See this app *play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.unlockunit.lg_g2 you need to pay to get an unlock code

All the best :) but you said better camera...compare them so you dont regret later :)

Nexus 5 has a few shortcomings which will hamper my mobile experience a lot. Mainly non-expandable memory and average battery life & camera. LG G2 is out of consideration. So now I have to decide between S4 and N5. Back to square one. :/

You can manage with N5's inbuilt storage and battery life...

It's a little difficult for me to manage on 16GB storage.

And the performance of S4 isn't that poor, I think it will be sufficient for me. S4 will receive the next major android update and the deep black version's looks are acceptable. IMO S4 is a better multimedia phone. What do you say?

Yeah definitely a better multimedia phone....It will get next android update too IMO
The pic you have linked is S4 mini though :)

But performance wise N5 will be good...The deep black version of S4 is @31k on Flipkart but its not worth that much I guess

TBH if I was you I would wait for G2's price to fall or extend upto 33.5k :)

That was my initial thought but waiting isn't an option for me. I'll be leaving my home (and my beloved desktop) in 2 days and I have Nokia 100 now. I need a smartphone before I leave my town. And 30k is max I can spend. :( :(

Now all you should do is go to a store and have a look at G2, N5, LG G Pro and S5 (even though you are not going to buy G2) and pick up the one which feels good (display, camera, UI, weight etc etc)

In your post you mentioned that yo can add around 2000, the 32 GB Nexus 5 is available for around 31k on Flipkart which means that with some negotiation you can get it for 30k. It will be a lot more future proof. I am telling you that after one major update you will be happy with the S4 but when another major update comes you will feel bad. As a owner of a Nexus device, it feels really good knowing that you will be getting android updates first.
---------UPDATED----------
buy a OTG with 16GB Pendrive for n5 !! :p
It is only good if you are storing movies in it because I find it all too much of hassle and if available I like to use cloud services.

I have to ask how many movies are you going to store in it? Do you have an external hard disk? Will you be carrying a laptop? If you will be watching movies occasionally then you can go with KayKashyap 's idea.

The lowest price I could find was 31.7k for the 32GB Black version. :-?

Anyways, ordered Nexus 5 16GB (black) from an amazon fulfilled seller for 26.8k
