when rar splits files .. then it names it as
.rar
.r01
.r02 ....

you keep all files in one folder and open .rar file and it reads all other files and extracts.
so i think there is something wrong in the names ..
one of the files is .rar file and others must be named as .r01,.r02,.r03,... and so on.

I guess you got a lot of this small .rar files which together constitutes a other file like a movie etc.. just open any one of the .rar file and extract it to the folder same as that of the .rar files..winrar will do the job and extract the whole lot of that thing and you shall have the desired file with you.

Follow these steps and you are done:
You need to download WinRAR - *www.rarlabs.com

Then, I assume your some rars like; .rar .r01 .r02 .r03 etc

Just open the .RAR file and extract the contents, it will automatically extract from the other rars assuming they're all in the same directory.

If you put all the 50 files in one folder, the .rar and the .r01... etc

Then install WinRAR, the icons of the .rar..r01 will change now.

Then just double click on the .RAR file and you will see the movie file in WinRAR - you then just extract this, you don't need to open the .r01.. etc as WinRAR extracts from those automatically.

There is a possibility that you are downloading the actual video file itself and not rar files. Check the website that you downloaded it from for any information about this... If not, try changing the extension to one of the video formats (avi, mpg, mpeg, wmv, rm, mov, etc) and opening them in media player...

If you are sure that it is an archive, try repairing the file in WinRAR...

If all else fails, report the problem to the website and see if they can help you out...

that is because the order of files is screwed up
ie., in a set of .rar, .r01, .02, .. etc files ..
if you switch the names of .r04 to .r05 and .r05 to .r04,
you will get the 'rar is corrupt' message ..
all files need to be correctly named .. not just the one .rar file
every file should be named correctly.

you either need to get the info of which file is what .. or redownload the whole thing
